Writer Jason Brown wrote up a cool article about food blogging in this weeks issue of Monday Magazine. It revolves around this blog and the burger blog. Check it out.

Edit: What a day for the blogs. Tom Hawthorn from the Globe and Mail just wrote a masterpiece on Donald and the Victoria Burger Blog. Check it ooouuuuuttt.

Am I the only one or has the H1N1 scenario made me increasingly nervous about eating at buffets? (excuse me whilst I cough in my hand and then handle the spoon you will get to handle next!) Full contact serving utensils might be replaced with ...something else I'm not sure what. Long ago we saw the installation of plexiglass cough barriers but that does nothing about the hand to hand contact.

A few days ago I ate at a StageWest buffet and live theatre in Calgary. I hadn't been to a buffet in a while and it reminded me of what buffets really are. While standing in line I was hockey checked by someone with a precariously high body mass index as he made way to the brie wheel. I watched as person after person piled food so high on their plates things were rolling down hill. Buffets in these scenarious really are a tribute to gluttony. And how healthy is it really to shovel in sushi on top of battered maui chicken on top of a slab of hip of beef on top of smoked salmon? Buffets are like an internal contest to see how many days worth of groceries one can shove down ones gullet in a single sitting. This is the cheif aim of many a young person on a budget and I sort of get that but one of the most obscene things I see in the world today is a very overweight person ladling up at a buffet. It is disgusting and it makes me want to puke on their pudgy feet!

lol foodman. how dare you get in the way of the brie wheel!

i agree, it can be a seriously disturbing scene watching somebody throw their life away at a buffet table. but its also hilarious. and buffets are amazing. i love stacking items that have no right being on the same plate.

Great article in the latest issue of Monday- it's nice to see coverage on local bloggers.

While I may not go for a buffet tonight, I may go out for a burger.

Cheers!
