Alleged high quality Indian place is almost ready to open buffet

Kuku's on 24 Burnside West might have a buffet before the middle of April. According to readers and a big sign outside the small catering company, there is a buffet "coming soon". I'll keep my eyes peeled because I'm really excited about this one. A friend of mine has been raving non-stop about Kuku's so I hope its incredible.

i really hope it has more than white rice and 4 sauces to put on it.. this could be good.. or we could keep wishing that Uncle Willy's didn't die.

I'll try and stay positive, but the last time I had Kuku's it was pretty fucking bland. Pretty much just Indian food made for the pussy-palates of busy mothers.

The bread and samosas are ok, and I haven't tried their daal, so hopefully I'm passing unfair judgement.

I am not sure what you two are talking about.... I have on several occasions ordered from this place and I havent heard any one of my 542 employees or my associates say anything bad about the quality of the food. Compared to the other East Indian restaurants in town these guys have the best food hand down.

Being better than the other Indian restaurants in town isn't saying much. Aside from samosas at the Indian store on Quadra, and Vij's take out meals from Charelli's, shit here is pretty westernized.

There are still a number of dishes I haven't tried at Kuku's though, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
